Partnership further empowers customers to achieve cyber situational awareness and better analyze the ‘attacker’s eye view’ of an organization

London and San Francisco – 15 June 2015: Digital Shadows today announced a partnership with Malformity Labs to empower customers to mine and visualise data via the Maltego framework from Paterva. Maltego is an intelligence and forensics application used by thousands of security analysts, researchers and incident responders to aggregate and visualize information from open sources, as well as third-party data.

While Digital Shadows continually monitors more than 100 million data sources in 27 languages across the visible, deep, and dark web, it will now also provide customers with 84 transforms and 14 entities that can be realized visually in the Maltego framework. Through the use of these transforms and entities, users will be able mine and visualize data that is relevant to their organizations for the express purpose of detailed link analysis.

Digital Shadows provides complete cyber situational awareness that helps organizations protect against cyber attacks, loss of intellectual property, and loss of brand and reputational integrity. Its flagship solution, Digital Shadows SearchLight™, is a scalable and easy-to-use data analysis platform that provides a holistic view of an organization’s digital footprint and the profile of its attackers. It is complemented with security analyst expertise to ensure extensive coverage, tailored intelligence and frictionless deployment.

The full functionality of Maltego and the Digital Shadows transforms can be used to investigate and explore entities associated with malicious incidents, including actors, campaigns, and events, as well as tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs). They can also be used to analyze and visualize data and map out relationships to better understand the threats that are targeting their organizations. The additional context provided by this data then allows them to make more informed business decisions to better defend assets from threat actors targeting them beyond their boundary.

Alastair Paterson, CEO of Digital Shadows explains the significance of the partnership: “This partnership with Malformity Labs extends an organization’s ability to achieve complete cyber situational awareness. Our customers already benefit from tailored threat analysis that provides an ‘attacker’s eye view’ of their organization, including which hostile groups might be targeting them, why, and their method of attack. By providing a visual snapshot it will make it easier for these customers to carry out detailed link analysis and help reveal relationships between different threat actors or risks.”
